It’s time to get on the same team.
City Council is making a decision on June 26th whether or not to approve the 408.2 million dollar agreement between the city, the Government of Alberta, and the Oilers Entertainment Group.
This means millions of our limited tax dollars could go to fund the profits of a billionaire through a private development, instead of investing in what matters: creating the world-class city we all deserve, with stronger infrastructure, affordable housing, and a city that works for everyone.
The Oilers are our team. We’re all proud to support them. But that doesn’t mean the OEG can take advantage of that pride to make even more profit off the tax payer. In a time where everyone is struggling, we need to reinvest in our city and working people instead.
If we can flood Council’s inbox right before the decision on June 26th, we could raise the alarm enough to change this deal for the better.
