About Erin
Erin Rutherford has represented Ward Anirniq at City Council since 2021 where she makes sure community voices are heard.
As City Councillor, Erin translates what’s happening at Council into real-world impacts, brings community members’ lived experiences into the decisions being made, and stays accountable to residents. She has consistently asked constructive questions of city administration questioning how the status quo helps working families and provides solutions on how we can do it better. With a group of councillors committed to building the city that working families deserve there is no limit to what she can accomplish.
Erin’s qualifications include:
- For the last 12 years, Erin has focused her career on building community.
- Erin has advocated for the rights of young people and LGBTQ2S+, supported public engagement on capital projects and led a team dedicated to major issues like poverty and houselessness and equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- She brings the concerns of residents in Anirniq directly into Council chambers, and translates complex decisions into clear, honest conversations with the community.
- Erin stands steadfast for working people making sure that administration and developers say what they are planning in plain language instead of trying to sneak one past council and working families.
